Program Aim: To teach the Spanish language and Mexican culture to foreign children ages 5 – 12 in a fun and meaningful way!

At Camp Catalina, children participate in an activities-based curriculum, where they learn Spanish through fun, hands-on activities including learning songs, doing traditional Mexican arts & crafts and cooking projects, as well as through a more formal instruction period where they will work on developing their listening, speaking and writing skills in Spanish.  Through the structure of our activities-based curriculum, the children will assimilate the Spanish language quickly and naturally as it will be presented in the context of fun activities that they relate to.

We also strive to create a cultural bridge by bringing Mexican children who speak Spanish from the village to participate in camp activities.  This allows for friendships to be formed between children from different cultural backgrounds, and helps carry out our mission of providing a Spanish-rich language environment.
